20th Century Boys Vol.1 Chapter 1 - Friend
20th Century Boys is an interesting Shonen Manga. The first chapter really lured my in with it's story line and interesting characters. The story itself goes back and forth between flashbacks and present day of the characters.
The first chapter we have some overview of the year 1973 where we also get to know the history in that year. Then we start introducing all the characters that you see in the profile before you actually go to the story. The setting and personalities of the characters are well set up and clearly introduced.
So far my favorite character is Kanna, an adorable baby that was adopted by Kenji after Kanna's family was missing. Even though Kanna doesn't say that many lines except cry and call Kenji "dad" I have always fallen for the very cute and adorable anime characters by the facial features of just their overall personality that makes them cute.
I can also say Kenji is my second favorite, he already has his dreams to open up his mini mart but we can also see his struggle to make money with his own mini mart but also having to take care of a child seems like hard work to do.
I would recommend this manga to anybody that enjoys learning more about best friends that have grown and stayed together. Kinda reminds me of my group of friends that I had since Middle School and I saw each of them grow and develop. Even though we may not see each other much because of our busy lives. We keep each other close and our memories we shared together.
